KU'S south campus organises Mega Tiranga Yatra
Anantnag, Aug 14: In line with the clarion call by Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, in his recently concluded Maan ki Baat regarding "Har Ghar Tiranga" programme, south campus,Anantnag on Monday carried out a mega Tiranga Yatra under "MERI MAATI, MERA DESH" campaign
The Tiranga Yatra witnessed a remarkable participation from faculty, non-teaching staff and students with patriotic fervour.
Tiranga Yatra was flagged off by the Director,South campus, Prof. Raies Ahmad Qadri from the main gate.
The yatra commenced from the main gate and passed through various departments, thereby completing a lap of the entire Campus. The Tiranga Yatra culminated at the Adminstration block.
A mass singing of National Anthem also took place, wherein participants sung the National Anthem with pride and honour.
Prof. Raies Ahmad led the Tiranga Yatra and later addressed the gathering. He said that country is celebrating the Amrit Kaal of independence from August 15,2023 to August 15, 2047.
He also highlighted that Campus has put in all the arrangements in place for the 77th Independence Day celebrations.
The programme was coordinated by Assistant Director, Physical Education, Tausif Bhat.
Earlier, Tausif Bhat gave a detailed account of the event, wherein he underscored the impact of participating in Nation building programmes.
