Central Library, South Campus Anantnag University of Kashmir organized a day long Library Orientation Programme for newly enrolled students of various PG programmes of Batch 2018 at Library Auditorium. The event was aimed at enabling the students to make better use of library resources for their academic pursuits. Students from different departments of the campus participated in the event and got an opportunity to learn about multiple facilities and their utility available at university library department. Professor Fareed Ahmad Rafiqi (Department of Law University of Kashmir) acted as chief guest and deliberated upon the necessity of readership among young students to inculcate scholarly attributes.

Ms Humma Assistant Librarian Central University of Kashmir acted as resource person who in her detailed presentation highlighted the package of facilities that are available for students in the the library department. Apart from books, journals, newspapers and magazines she also talked about the range of e-resources that students can easily access to enrich their knowledge base. Professor Muzaffar ali Andarbi – Director South Campus University of Kashmir in his special address discussed about the significance and relevance of libraries in the development of institutional excellence. He insisted students to make best of the library resources that are being updated and upgraded to make them more student friendly.
