The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Professor Tatat Ahmed visited South Campus, University of Kashmir today on 05-03-2020. The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by Registrar Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor Dr. Tanveer Ahmad Shah, Executive Engineer Mufti Burhan Shah along with other staff from Construction Division. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor was received by Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Wani (Director) and other faculty member of the Campus. As a mark of goodwill gesture the Hon’ble Vice chancellor and other dignitaries planted Cedrus saplaing in the main Lawn in front of Administration Block. Thereafter Dr. Aijaz Ahmad in his Office Chamber formally welcomed the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries. This was followed by a detailed power point presentation made by Dr. Mohd Iqbal Bhat in front of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor. Dr. Iqbal gave a brief overview of the Campus and its existing infrastructure. Various issues and concerns pertaining to overall development of the Campus were also highlighted.
The Registrar Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir in his initial remarks appreciated the efforts made by teaching and non teaching staff in their respective areas. The Registrar in his address stressed upon the development and proper work culture among the teaching and non teaching faculty as well as stressed upon making plans for utilization of funds within the financial year. The Registrar also assured his support and assistance in terms of recruitment of staff, augmentation of hostel facilities for Boys and Girls, speeding up process for completion of Library Block as well as Nursing Institute. He extended his full cooperation in conducting placement drive for students of this Campus, besides providing scholarship to Research Scholars of the Campus.
In his presidential address the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor endorsed the statements made by Registrar. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor specifically assured upon the augmentation of hostel facility for Boys and Girls. In his concluding remarks the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor directed all the faculty members of the Campus to work hard with respect to their teaching and research activities besides making the South Campus a hub of academic activities round the year.
