Blood Donation Drive

South Campus University of Kashmir Anantnag organised Blood Donation camp  in the Library hall of the Campus. A total of 62 persons including students and staff of the campus donated the blood on the event. It is pertinent to mention that a good number of female donors participated in the event.

Dr. Mohd Iqbal, Cooridinator South Campus University of Kashmir while addressing the gathering said that apart from educational activities, the Campus has been organising such events for the exposure of the students, and include them in social activities. South Campus is dedicated to help out the society and empower the youth.

 

Javed Ahmad Tak Honorary Chairman Humanity Welfare Organisation HELPline who was also part of the event said that no machine and factory in the universe produce blood, it is the speciality of Humanity body to produce the blood and donate it to save the lives of other co humans. The event has aim to inculcate habit of helping others from the heart and mind, Tak added. He said that the blood will be deposited in blood bank of the District Hospital Anantnag so that patients facing renal failures, Cancer patients and the Women having delivery time will be helped out in hospitals. Humanity welfare organisation HElpline has been conducting the blood donations from previous so many years while Ramzan is approaching so that the patients in need may not suffer, Tak said.

NSS head,Dr. Firdous while speaking on the occasion said that volunteers of NSS group South Campus University of Kashmir will always be at forefront to organise events like blood donations so that the humanity and human lives are saved.

Besides the volunteers from Nursing college south campus, NSS volunteers,, Childline team and staff of the South Campus University of Kashmir volunteered for the event.

District Hospital Blood Bank staff collected the blood along with Doctor showkat, chief technologist and team leader savir Ahmad. The team worked hard and all the blood donors safely donated blood.
