Anantnag, Oct 01: In line with the clarion call by Hon'ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the Varsity's south campus, Anantnag on Sunday joined the nationwide hour-long cleanliness drive “Shramdaan Programme” titled “Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath”
The event was organised under the aegis of “Swachhta Hi Sewa” Abhiyan, Government of India as a tribute to Bapu on the eve of his 154th Birth Anniversary.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response from faculty, non -teaching staff and students.
The massive cleanliness drive was led by Director, South Campus, Prof Raies Ahmad Qadri. The entire premises of the Campus were cleaned by the participants of the programme. The drive started from adminstration block and culminated at science block.
While addressing the participants of the drive, he exhorted that people of our country will contribute to this mission, thereby making india a garbage free country in near future.
Youth of the nation have contributed to this mission immensely and concerted efforts are to be called to strengthen the "Green India, Clean India" campaign. Prof. Qadri said.
The event was coordinated by Assistant Director, Physical Education, Tausif Bhat.
