The five-day One Week National Workshop on Fundamentals of Scientific Research: Methods, Tools and Applications began at the South Campus with an engaging and thoughtfully organized inaugural session. Dr. Syed Noor-Ul-Amin, introduced the objectives of the workshop, highlighting its role in strengthening research skills. Prof. Waseem Bari, Director of South Campus, delivered the welcome address, encouraging participants to actively engage throughout the program. The Guest of Honor, Prof. Vivek Sachdeva from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, emphasized the importance of scientific rigor in research, setting an inspiring tone. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rumica Afzal.
The academic sessions that followed were conducted by Dr. Adil Zahoor from the Islamic University of Science & Technology, who provided practical insights into the research process. He discussed how to identify meaningful research problems and guided participants on structuring their ideas effectively. This was complemented by a detailed explanation of research design, along with hypothesis formulation and testing, enabling participants to better understand how to develop and validate their research work.
As the day progressed, participants showed increasing involvement, gradually connecting theoretical concepts with their own research interests. The interactive discussions and learning atmosphere laid a strong foundation for the rest of the workshop.
