KU'S south campus organises Tiranga Rally under Meri Maati Mera Desh
Anantnag, August 10: In a run up to the 76th Independence Day celebrations, varsity's South campus Anantnag on Thursday carried out a mega tiranga rally under the theme of Meri Maati Mera Desh.
The rally was flagged off by Director, South Campus, Prof. Raies Ahmad Qadri. The rally started from administrative block and proceeded through the departments of the campus and later culminated at science block.
The rally saw an overwhelming participation from faculty, non-teaching staff and students.
The participants of the rally later took a Panch Pran Pledge with Maati(soil) and diya on their palms . The Panch Pran Pledge was read out by Assistant Director, Physical Education, Tausif Bhat.
Prof. Raies Ahmad Qadri spelt out the significance of Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi. He further added that organising such nation building programs help in instilling sense of belonging to nation and national pride.
