Anantnag, June 2: In time with the clarion call by Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi and subsequent instructions by Ministry of Ayush, Kashmir University’s South Campus Anantnag joined the worldwide 10th International Day of Yoga on the theme"Yoga for Self and Society," underscoring the holistic benefits of yoga for individuals and communities. The event was organized by Physical and Sports, South Campus, Anantnag.
The yoga session witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff, and students of the campus. The participants performed with zeal and exuberance, demonstrating their commitment to physical and mental well-being.
Director of South Campus, Prof. Raies Ahmad Qadri, while speaking on the occasion, invoked the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister to incorporate yoga into daily life. He emphasized that regular yoga practice is essential for achieving mental, physical, and spiritual stability.
Prof. Qadri highlighted the significance of yoga in fostering a balanced and harmonious lifestyle, aligning perfectly with this year's theme.
Participants were engaged in various asana and breathing exercises expertly demonstrated by Assistant Director, Physical Education, Tausif Ahmad Bhat, who stressed the importance of yoga in enhancing overall health and well-being.
